Canberra – The Heart of Australia

Chi tiết Canberra - The Heart of Australia

REVIEW TOUR

Canberra is a small city with a population of around 380,000. However, it holds great importance as the capital of the vast nation of Australia. Canberra is located on a plateau region, about 650 km from Melbourne and 300 km from Sydney. The city is naturally fortified, surrounded by mountain ranges that resemble protective walls and natural watchtowers. Visiting this place, you will be amazed not only by the breathtaking beauty of a highland city, but also truly impressed by the foresight of the predecessors who chose this land to be the nation's capital.

If Melbourne and Sydney are the two most important capitals of Australia in terms of culture and economy, then Canberra is undoubtedly the political capital. That’s why Canberra is a must-visit destination for every traveler exploring Australia. Vietbooking proudly presents a one-day tour to Canberra, departing from Sydney and returning on the same day. Other Canberra tours offered by Vietbooking include: airport pickup at Canberra with return to Sydney/Canberra airport, or travel to Canberra from Melbourne (part of the Sydney road trip tour).

TOUR PROGRAM:

+ Goulburn: A small city renowned for sheep farming. This is a delightful stopover where you can visit the wool-making museum and browse local souvenir shops.

+ Lake Burley Griffin: A beautiful artificial lake encircling the heart of the capital. This lakeside stop allows you to unwind after the long journey from Sydney to Canberra. With its charming landscape, playful birds and rabbits in the park, you’ll find plenty of photo opportunities by the lake or at the Captain James Cook Memorial.

+ Lake Burley Griffin Bridge to Bridge Walk: A grand and majestic view of the capital featuring towering flagpoles and, especially, vibrant cherry blossom trees reflecting on the water, particularly stunning during the spring months of September and October. In April and May, you can check in with the fiery red autumn foliage lining the walkways.

+ Capital Hill – Parliament House: A symbol of a free nation governed by its people. Hence, the heart of Canberra is its Parliament House, situated atop a scenic hill. Australia’s Parliament House is one of the world’s largest parliamentary buildings, occupying the entire hill. Here, visitors can admire not only the building's architectural beauty but also learn about Australia’s formation, the British constitutional monarchy, and many more fascinating stories. From the Parliament, you’ll also enjoy a panoramic view of the capital. All major avenues converge at Capital Hill, leaving visitors awestruck by the city’s meticulous and stunning urban planning.

+ Dickson District: A vibrant culinary area, especially with numerous Vietnamese restaurants—an ideal spot to rest and enjoy a delicious lunch, helping you recharge for the long journey.

+ Anzac Parade – Australian War Memorial: Anzac Parade and the War Memorial are not only visually striking but also solemn places. They commemorate Australia’s military history and honor the soldiers who sacrificed their lives.

+ Royal Australian Mint: Money is often associated with being “cold” and uninteresting, but the Royal Australian Mint offers quite the opposite experience. As the country’s official coin minting facility, it doubles as a beautiful and meaningful museum full of surprising insights. Many secrets and fun facts await. Vietbooking will guide you through this unique exploration.

+ Black Mountain – Telstra Tower: This is the capital’s tallest viewpoint and home to its television tower. From here, you’ll get a spectacular panoramic view of the entire city. The sunset from this vantage point, overlooking the lake and the city below, is arguably one of the most breathtaking scenes in Canberra.

Canberra is quite a long tour, but with Vietbooking’s many years of experience, we ensure the most efficient use of time and the best sightseeing experience for all our guests. Join Vietbooking on this exciting journey!
