Situated on the banks of the Murray River, Albury is the last city in the New South Wales territory, with the city of Wodonga just across the river in Victoria. The Murray River serves as the border between the two states, but it belongs to New South Wales. This charming pair of cities is often referred to as the Twin City.

In the golden autumn, the streets of Albury are even more tranquil and beautiful. The city is home to the largest Chinese temple in Australia. However, the most fascinating attraction is the Hume Dam - a water dam and hydroelectric plant on the Murray River, which is Albury's greatest pride.

Designed and constructed in 1915 through an agreement among the governments of New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia, this large project was completed in 1936, and at that time, it was the largest dam in the world.

It stands tall, with one side serving a vast lake that supports agriculture, the town's daily activities, and flood control in the Murray Valley. In 1961, the lake was doubled in size, increasing its storage capacity to 3 million cubic meters. On the other side is the hydroelectric plant and the winding Murray River.

The vast, serene blue lake, the expansive and beautiful green lawns, and the surrounding trees create a very pleasant stopping point.
